Abstract:The content of TiO2 and ZrO2 in a coastal placer abroad reached 7.55% and 0.74% respectively. Titanium mainly exists in the form of ilmenite, rutile and other industrial usable minerals, zirconium mainly exists in the form of zircon, and the embedded particle size range is mainly 0.04-0.16mm. It belongs to the particle size range suitable for physical ore dressing and is a typical zirconium titanium symbiotic placer.Taking a foreign coastal placer as the research object, this paper carried out a small-scale experimental study on Process Mineralogy and beneficiation. Using the whole process of "gravity concentration and preconcentration of zirconium and titanium minerals - magnetic separation of ilmenite and non-magnetic zirconium and titanium minerals - gravity concentration and preconcentration of zirconium and titanium minerals - dry magnetoelectric separation of rutile and zircon", ilmenite concentrate with titanium grade greater than 52% was obtained respectively Rutile concentrate containing iron with titanium grade greater than 77%, rutile concentrate with titanium grade greater than 75% and zircon concentrate with zirconium grade greater than 63%.The recovery rates of titanium and zirconium reached 81% and 74% respectively, realizing the efficient utilization of titanium and zirconium resources in the deposit, which can provide reference for the development and utilization of similar mines.
