Abstract:This article conducted flotation experiments on magnesite and dolomite under the condition of T=10℃, using guar gum as the adjusting agent and NaOL and Tween-80 as the combined collectors. The results showed that the combined collector system (Tween-80 dosage was 2.5% of NaOL dosage) and 20mg/L guar gum had better efficacy. After use, the recovery rate of magnesite increased from 55.5% to 87%, and the recovery rate of dolomite increased from 29% to 30.5%. Under this chemical system, flotation experiments were conducted on artificially mixed ores, and it was found that guar gum has a selective inhibitory effect on dolomite, effectively separating magnesite from its gangue mineral dolomite. The contact angle test results indicate that under the combined collector system, guar gum can reduce the surface hydrophobicity of dolomite. Combining dynamic potential, infrared spectroscopy, and XPS analysis, it was found that the addition of Tween-80 at T=10℃ resulted in a decrease in potential, no new absorption peaks in infrared spectroscopy, no significant changes in the binding energies of magnesite and dolomite elements, and an increase in the content of C element on the mineral surface. It was found that Tween-80 enhanced the adsorption of NaOL by promoting its dissolution and dispersion, thereby improving the recovery rate; After adding guar gum, compared to magnesite, the potential of dolomite shifts significantly negatively, and guar gum characteristic peaks appear in the infrared spectrum. N and P elements significantly increase, and the binding energy of Ca changes greatly. Therefore, it can be concluded that guar gum has a greater adsorption capacity for Ca sites than for Mg sites. Therefore, it can selectively adsorb on the surface of dolomite, reducing the binding of NaOL with dolomite and reducing hydrophobicity, leading to sinking, Thus achieving flotation separation of magnesite and dolomite at T=10℃.
