    Abstract:

Butyl xanthate, ammonium dibutyl dithiophosphate and diethyldithiocarbamate are three common collectors of galena. Their adsorption energy on galena surface were investigated based on density functional theory from microscopic view, and their adsorption thermodynamics were studied by static adsorption method. The results of simulation calculation show that ammonium dibuyldithiophosphate exhibits the lowest capacity of eqiliblium adsorption. Therefore it is easy to adsorb on the surface of galena, followed by butyl xanthate and diethyldithiocarbamate. The results of static adsorption indicated that adsorptive capacity of these collectors on galena increased with the rise of temperature, and their adsorption isotherm are better fit to Langmuir equation. The adsorption processes are preferential due to n >1, and endothermic based on 2
