Abstract: |
In order to study the flotation behavior and action mechanism of natural fatty acid on hemimorphite, natural fatty acid collector separated and purified from gutter oil by the urea adduction method was used. Flotation experiments on hemimorphite and researches on action mechanism were conducted. The results showed under the condition that the mass ratio of urea to mixed fatty acid was 1:1, the unsaturated fatty acid had an excellent flotation performance. When the collector dosage of 200 mg/L, the pulp pH ranged from 6 to10, the rotational speed of 200 r/min and the air-flow rate of 80 mL/min, the flotation recovery of hemimorphite could be achieved more than 95%. The adsorption mechanism of gutter oil fatty acid collector on the surface of hemimorphite was analyzed by Zeta potential measurements, fourier transform-infrared spectra (FT-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectrpscopy (XPS). The results showed that the gutter oil fatty acid collector adsorbed on the surface of the hemimorphite with strong chemical adsorption, so that the hemimorphite floated up in the water. This study provided a useful theoretical guidance for the preparation of flotation collector separated from gutter oil and the direct flotation of fatty acid collector to hemimorphite. |
